Tax Acquired Property for Sale – SOLD 12/15/17

The Cambridge Board of Selectmen is accepting bids for the purchase of the municipality’s interest in a tax acquired property. Each bid must be in writing and in a sealed envelope marked “tax sale bid” on the outside. All bids must be received at the town office no later than 12:00PM on Monday, December 11, 2017. Late bids will not be opened or considered. A minimum bid of $2,500.00 is required.
Each bid must include the bidder’s name, mailing address, phone number, and must be accompanied by a $1,000 deposit in the form of a certified check or money order. The successful bidder’s deposit will be credited to the total price for the parcel. Deposits will be returned to unsuccessful bidders. Any bid which does not contain the proper deposit will be rejected.
Bids will be opened, reviewed and awarded by the Selectmen at the Town office on December 13, 2017 at 6:30PM. The Board reserves the right to reject any and all bids. The successful bidder shall have 14 days from the date of the bid acceptance in which to complete the purchase. The property will be conveyed by a quitclaim deed without covenants. In the event that a successful bidder fails for any reason, to complete the purchase in the time stated, the bid acceptance is void and the bidder’s deposit shall be forfeited to the town. The Selectmen may thereafter negotiate a sale of the property with any unsuccessful bidder.
The property for sale is described on assessors’ Map T Lot 25, – 4.5 acres with a building located at 17 Dexter Road, Cambridge, Maine.
Public information concerning the property may be reviewed at the Town Office during its normal business hours.
